Surrounded by the green of the soccer field, the“ Monarca ”butterfly garden and the forest that delimits the La Saija creek, is the High School section of Colegio La Arboleda. Our section is made up of grades eight to eight. Eleventh, We have a representative group of bilingual and monolingual teachers who not only teach in languages, but also provide our students with a global perspective of a current, changing and diverse world.
The subjects we offer in English in eighth grade are: Math, Science and English, and in eleventh grade: Global Perspectives and Economics. These subjects are developed under the international curriculum of the University of Cambridge.
Regarding a third language, the teaching of French continues, from the third year of Primary to the tenth grade. From eighth to eleventh grade, the subjects of Mathematics, Spanish, Social Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Philosophy are added with their respective laboratory practices, so that our students are in excellent condition for the national tests PRESABER AND SABER 11th. The intensity of the classes in English allows all students to obtain high and outstanding results in the international tests they take in Tenth and Eleventh grade (IGCSE and IELTS), respectively. Classes in Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theater and Visual Arts are offered in what we familiarly call the Green Building. To these subjects is added the Technology area that is taught in a modern room equipped with all the means for this purpose. Similarly, Sports and Physical Education play a preponderant role in the formation of our students.
The School provides its students with experiences and situations that allow them to build meaningful and dynamic learning in English and Spanish, supported by a bilingual environment, with pedagogical strategies that promote the construction of specific knowledge in the different curricular areas, including knowledge Social.
